Details from a series of my drawings—”motion studies”, I have come to call them—have been used for Four33, a podcast on improvisation, hosted and produced by Carey West and Stephen Donnelly.

I began making these drawings a few years ago during a period when I had time to kill. They are meditations on fixed points, moving points, and changing shape. They are play. Often I find the simplest ones the most beautiful.
This was an early one, I thought of it more as a poem. My dear friend Matthew Forbes had it tattooed on his forearm. I still feel tremendously honoured.
